Quebec 2020

Tiguidou!  Forty-two eighth graders had a fantastic adventure this year over the Martin Luther King Holiday weekend in Quebec City.  Thanks to Yvonne, the Wade Tours bus driver, and clear roads, we were grateful for another safe passage over the border! Upon arrival, the students met Edouard, an awesome Jumpstreet Tour Guide, who kept them on the move and informed.  After checking in at Hôtel Le Concorde, students walked in frigid temperatures through the beautiful city to the St. Lawrence River, enjoyed dinner at St. Hubert’s, and participated in “The Military,” an interactive history lesson.  New this year was Le Domaine de Maizerets, which included cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and ice-skating.  The following day, dogsledding and making maple butter were on the to-do list, and then delicious food and dancing at the Sugar Shack ended with a wagon ride. Students toured the Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre, the Ice Hotel, and then the tubing park, Valcartiers, where they enjoyed numerous rides on the Everest and the Himalaya. A gourmet dinner was enjoyed at Côtes-à-Côtes Resto Grill, and if that wasn’t enough activity for the day, students walked up to toboggan by the Château Frontenac and then went swimming at the hotel. Phew! Students enjoyed a scavenger hunt and then spent the last few hours at the Galleries Mall before heading back to Tully. Many thanks to the Tully Board of Education, Tully Administration, and many others who helped make this trip possible, especially our chaperones, Mr. Jim Hendricks, Mr. Chris Scalza, Mrs. Beth Tucker, and Mrs. Janice Sheldon.  Travel helps you learn about yourself and your world - Happy memories!
