Senior Trip Goes Virtual

The annual senior trip has always been an anticipated one for those graduating. Students vote at the beginning of each year on where they want to go for the trip. Past trips have included Cedar Point, Boston, and the Poconos. This year, students voted to go to Boston with the New England Aquarium, Market Street, a Codzilla boat ride, a dinner/dance cruise, and Six Flags all on the agenda.  It was all set for June 14 and 15, but plans were diverted when Boston began to shut down and Mrs. Bishop worried about the students’ safety. Seniors that were attending the trip were upset to learn of the cancellation, and rightfully so. Trying to keep spirits up, Mrs. Bishop created a virtual senior trip for them. The slideshow featured a poem written by Mrs. Bishop herself, strategically placing student names to add some humor. Videos of Market Street stuntmen, the Codzilla, New England Aquarium animals, and Six Flags rides were inserted into the slideshow so students could see the activities they would have participated in. At the end of the virtual trip, John Cena reads a Dr. Suess book and leaves a message to the graduates of 2020. Mrs. Bishop parts ways with Rascal Flatts’s “My Wish,” which may have left a few seniors in tears. She also sent the seniors an “Elementary Years” slideshow and a “Memories: Class of 2020” slideshow. Thanks to Mrs. Bishop for coming up with a great way to make our seniors feel special during these times!
