Tully Students Attend Legislative Breakfast

On December 1st, four Tully students participated in the Central New York Library Resource Council's legislative breakfast.  The breakfast is an annual event designed to bring library stakeholders in contact with their state legislators so that they can advocate for library needs.  The students were able to meet and speak with Senator Dave Valesky, Assemblyman Al Stirpe, and representatives of Senator John DeFrancisco and Assemblypersons Will Barclay, Bill Magnarelli, and Pamela Hunter.

Our students talked about how important libraries had been for them as centers of literature, technology, exploration, making, and simply as safe places to go.  Tully was one of only two school districts in the area to bring students, and they really stood out among a large group of librarians and administrators.  The legislators truly appreciated hearing from them.
